Captured on a PlayStation 5, the trailer shows off flashy, combo-oriented combat paired with a focus on monster-climbing across various biomes, whether desert, swamp, castle, or many others. Additionally, the footage highlights the variety of combat customization choices available in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Some of these choices can be seen above, including rapid-firing ensorcelled bows, light spells dispelling darkness, and broken ice pillars launching upwards to allow strategic vertical attacks.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 focuses on the story of the Arisen (the player character) and the Dragon who has taken their heart. Both of them are bound by the dogma of the world to fight against each other. Players will explore the world of Vermund and navigate its environments, people, and politics with eternal and evolving companions known as pawns.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a sequel to the more than a decade-old Dragon’s Dogma, originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.
I’m fascinated by the idea of this sequel finally becoming a reality. I have quite a lot of fondness in my heart for Dragon’s Dogma as an amalgamation and response to the open-world RPG genre beyond ten years ago. It’ll be fascinating to see how its development team evolves in this new story with player choice front and centre.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on March 22nd. Stay tuned to RPGFan for all news RPG!
