Well, this is what it all adds up to. This is the soundtrack to an underground hit in Japan that was released on Saturn, PlayStation, and then improved for a Dreamcast re-release. Disc one is really good because it’s arranged…it’s basically all the same tracks on the original disc, in a different order. I like the tracks I sampled a lot…the arranged disc is so great.
But, the original disc is pretty stinky. The sound quality is not good at all…it sounds cheesy. Some of the songs aren’t too different from the arranged version. But, when you have the arranged disc, there’s not much point in listening to the original disc…ever.
The Black/Matrix Sound Collection is a pretty obscure thing. Unless you have a reason to buy it, I wouldn’t suggest looking for it. It’s nothing too special…the jazzy numbers are the best, but there’s very few of them (like…two). If you can find it, don’t pay more than $30 for it.
